Oh how surprised he'll be if he takes this stuff to heart and actually wins the presidency. He'll find that few in D.C. will share his view of divine ordination.
Peggy Noonan writes about religion and the Republicans, today in her column, saying RR wouldn't make the cut these days. I mention it because there are these two ways of making religion personal that seem to appeal to Americans. This reminds me of Pentecostal ministers I have heard who speaking of being wrapped in robes of righteousness, though robes of self-righteousness might better apply in this case.
