An Evangelical Manifesto

Word is out that ome prominent evangelicals will engage in some prophetic witness about the prophetic witness in which some of their brethren have engaged.

Among the prominent signatories are (apparently) Rick Warren, Os Guinness, and Richard Mouw. Prominent non-signatories include a number of the usual suspects, like James C. Dobson, Richard Land, and Tony Perkins.

The manifesto has been embargoed until this Wednesday. I’m sure I’ll have something to say then.

How about something like, "of the issuing of evangelical manifestos there is no end..."?

If only this manifesto had been written in the 80s. I have found it sadly ironic that with the emmergence of the evangelical right as a political force America has witnessed its greatest period of family and moral decay. There is a big reason why the Apostle Paul was not a politician.
