Lincoln's formula for grassroots campaigns is a very good one. Rove left out one part of it, which was: At the end of the process (GOTV), focus on the people who are "certain" to vote for your candidate. But that's a quibble. The key point in the Lincoln strategy is that the voters should be contacted by individuals in whom they have some confidence. Due to the relatively anomic character of the Republican coalition, this is harder for us to accomplish than for the Democrats. However, BC-04 had at least a degree of success with it in the last election.
