2008 battleground states

No, I don’t mean Georgia, Republic or state.
According to Karl Rove (remember him?), they are (drum roll, please) Colorado, Virginia, Michigan, and... (gasp!) Ohio.
The challenge for McCain will be galvanizing the social conservatives while keeping down Obama’s margins among college-educated voters in the suburbs. Tough, but not impossible.

Makes sense, if by "battleground" Rove means "McCain must sweep all of them if he wants to win." Michigan is probably a pipe dream for Rove/McCain - trending red, and Republicans want to keep the animosity over the primary vote alive, but a McCain victory there is as likely as in any of the other upper midwest states (WI, MN, etc.).
Brett, you're right on the definition. That means that difficult but not impossible means what the coach says when you're down three touchtowns at halftime.
Does this mean that Romney should be the Veep nomination, in that many say he has leverage in Michigan due to his father George?
It seems to me that Veep choices account for little.
