Don’t Turn Me Into a Newt!

Some readers will get the reference, anyway.
Pardon the name dropping, but I asked George Will on Thursday whether he thought Newt would make a good chair of the RNC.
He visibly shuddered.

Apparently Will couldn't come up with an answer.
George Will shuddered? That's all I need to hear - make Newt the chairman NOW! How long has it been since George Will was relevant to the conservative cause? Will makes me shudder, and so does Peggy Noonan...
Steve, since you broached the subject, do you concur with Will's non-verbal comment, or dissent?
Will & Noonan have their issues, but as far as Newt Will is correct. Even the suggestion shows how shallow the GOP talent pool is.
With Newt as chair, we could look forward to such "conservative" press conferences as Newt & Hillary telling us how the next wave of health care socialization would go. We could also look forward to the silly, such as Newt & Steve Jobs standing together telling us how a laptop in the hands of every student would solve our educational problems...
