I agree with Rich Lowry that this NRO Corner post from Jim Manzi on the stimulus bill is perhaps the best short takedown I’ve seen yet. I know from my own conversations with him that Jim, an MIT-trained mathematician, is one seriously smart guy.

Irwin Stelzer claims that there is a logic embedded in the plan. The spending in the later years is intended to ease the burden on the economy as the Fed takes money back out of the system in years ahead. It's a highwire act, but perhaps a good gamble.
