Like all good women, she knew there was something more to be made of her father's good fortune than his short-sighted ideas could encompass. If she had held the ball, he'd still have the ball. But the world would soon forget that. Because of what she did, he had the opportunity to demonstrate his virtue before the world. If he's not proved himself to be the best dad in the world with this episode, I don't know who has claim to that title.

Men always underestimate the wisdom of their female betters . . . I bet he has a different view now.
