A Two-fer Saturday

Turns out the
Washington Post has already posted online
my Sunday Outlook piece about Reagan, Palin, and the Tea Parties. Likely to stir up more controversy and fill up my e-mail box, like my last
Post piece. Enjoy!

A great article. But the reference to the Tea Party as a "faction" made me cringe. WWPD?
"In 1974, Reagan turned down an invitation for a regular commentary on the “CBS Evening News With Walter Cronkite” — a slot most politicians would have killed for — because he thought he’d be overexposed on television. Again, leave them wanting more."
Sounds like CBS was following "Friends close, enemies closer". I wonder if they hoped to control him, moderate him or discredit him by a public firing or something. Maybe they wanted protection from Nixon.
Anyway, he chose the FDR model again--radio!
Great article.
