Smurf City, Here We Come

Los Angeles Times:
In the Oct. 13 Section A, a profile
of Lorenzo Velez, the only Bell City Council member not charged with a
crime, described Bell as "a city dominated by blue-color Mexican
immigrants like himself." It should have said "blue-collar."

Isn't this the same city council that pays itself 100k a year for working two days a week?
Do you think the blue-collar residents really want to pay city council a wage that would justify proof-reading profiles?
I can't help but think, that residents might say that If he can find a way to do the job for a more modest 20k a year, they don't mind being blue-color mexican immigrants.
Well, being a California boy I've met my share of immigrants from Michocan, Oaxaca, and such, but never any of these blue amigos. Are they the ones who invented blue-corn tortilla chips? I love those. Has "Brown Power" been keeping them down, away from Holy Aztlan, except in el pueblo del Bell? Could their ancestors be the azule-colored ones portrayed in those Mayan heiroglyphics?
A seriously funny error. I wonder if Leno did anything with it.
