Michael Anton is a writer who lives in New York, but he was born and raised in California. He is a native. I lived in California for thirty years, and he is the second native I have ever met. Hah, wow. I grew up splitting my time between West Hollywood and then Lompoc on the central coast (halfway between Santa Maria and Santa Barbara), and my address is now in North Hollywood, and I liked to ride my bike around a lot as a kid-- could get away with it in Lompoc, but never by myself from the valley to the beach in LA. Parents would have never allowed it.
I do remember when I my favorite memories growing up was a day when a bunch of us went up to the snow in the morning and spent the day playing, then drove down and had dinner on the beach.

I am a native of the SF Bay Area. I have no hope for the Stupid State - they just elected the guy who signed the Dill Act of 1978 which has now caused the bulk of CA budget problems.. CA will run out of other people's money in less than two years.
