Nope, no coincidence at all. The Federal government has become an enormous parasite on the body politic, and Washington D.C. is where those spoils are expended for the most part. Nothing could more aptly illustrate the problem -- within the next generation or two, the Fed will be feeding on a corpse if we aren't careful.

Term limits! The elimination of many cabinet agencies! The flat tax! (I realize this doesn't have the same emotional power as "Remember the Alamo," but hey, you gotta start somewhere).
