Harvey Sicherman, RIP

Mac Owens offers a few good words on his passing. I have known his name and his virtues for years, and then recently sent a couple of students to intern at FPRI and they came back speaking very well of him, in tones similar to Mac's. He is a loss to the country he loved.

From Foreign Policy's obit:
"Broad shouldered with an athlete's build. Bowler hat. Saddle shoes. Three-piece suit (chained, antique time-piece attached to vest pocket, naturally). Walking stick. Big cigar. Vintage car. Pure class all the way."
What a perfect get-up for a tea party! Let's play-act our Winston Churchill fetish.
And he carried a flask of Dewar's (commence stimulating debate on better/pricier alcohols for a flask). I suppose he was anti-elitist, too. Like the top-hatted guy from Monopoly.
As for FPRI, it was just a washed-up, McCarthyism-forever, right-wing welfare group that was trying to jump on the terrorism (Be afraid! Be very afraid!!) train.
I hope you die in a fire you America-hating freak.
