The Authoritarian Media

James Taranto
takes down the New York Times in today's
WJS for its morally indefensible coverage of the Arizona shooting. Taranto begins with a comparison of the
NY Times' disparate treatment of the Ft. Hood massacre and the Arizona shooting, and he doesn't relent until he's canvassed a wide spectrum of liberal hate speech over the past years.

If the Left equates intelligence with a point of view (think about NPR's "intelligent talk for intelligent people" promo line), then we are all going to be stupid if we disagree with them. We on the Right got used to the Left implying we were stupid, but whenever they stray into this, saying we are psychopaths, then we are offended.
You've gotta break away from that lamestream liberal media to get at The Truth!!
Like this Erick E. Erickson piece from RedState, where he wisely notes in talking about the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords (who happens to be Jewish)and its aftermath, that
"Through it all though, well meaning people on both sides of the ideological and partisan divide are not talking about the one thing that should be talked about — a saving faith in Jesus Christ."

Poor Gabrielle!! Perhaps after she completely recovers she'll be able to see the light on this one!
(I'm not sure the Onion could've done this one better)
