Billy Collins

A friend brought to my attention the poet Billy Collins and his
Snow Day. Just returned from Alaska, no different from Ohio. White with "the grandiose silence of the snow." I think you might like this. It tastes good.

I am trying again, without the attempt at links.
That poem has got a sweetness. His others, clustered behind titles in the list to the right are sometimes sharper. "The Breather" has got an edge. Or "Man in Space, which has in common with some others a paraprosdokian*-style ending.
Then there is "Forgetfulness" which I have read about five times trying to pretend it doesn't mean that much to me.
Yes, the taste suits -- me anyway. Thank you.
* My new word. There is probably some term in poetry for the same kind of thing, but I don't know it yet.
