Roe v. Wade and Equal Opportunity

Obama on Roe:  "And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams." So does he oppose sex-selection abortions?

The entire statement below:

As we mark the 39th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman's health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman's right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right. While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption. And as we remember this historic anniversary, we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.

If abortions are morally right, a fundamental constitutional right, and an attempt to keep the government out of families, why the sub-text there of "safe, rare, and legal?" Why not promote an increase in the number of abortions as an exercise of those fundamental rights and liberties?

"we must also continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams."

Functional Translation: because there is a type of liberal women who thinks the greatest tragedy in the world is not being able to go to college footloose and fancy free, we will allow you to kill anything that would interfere with creating those college memories and "finding yourself" as you mature from girl to young woman to woman.

Because that, in a nutshell, is IMHO what is emotionally driving the issue to a sizable extent. The idea that a girl might have to accept a life 'in the burbs' raising her child rather than having a glorious time at Harvard.

And people wonder why Obama will not release his academic records from Harvard and as the Editor of the Harvard Law Review, he never wrote an article.

If Obama would have released his academic records and wrote an article for the Harvard Law Review before running for President, he would have never won.

Obama makes Bush, who had better grades at Yale than John Kerry and I would be my investments, retirement and everything that I own that Bush had better grades than Obama, like a flipping genuis.

So much for liberal's mantra "Obama is so smart".

It's impossible to have any opportunities if you're killed in your mother's womb.
