Perhaps a small point, but please take note of the fact that although yesterday President Chirac said that he was not persuaded by Powell’s speech, he also said this: "We refuse to think that war is inevitable." This means, of course, that war is possible, they are trying to avoid it, yet, if it comes, it is possible they will support it.
