Presidential Poll

For what it is worth, here is the latest 2008 Presidential Poll from the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.

The top five Democrats in the Poll are: Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Biden and Wesley Clark. The top five Republicans are Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Condi Rice, Jeb Bush, and, drumroll, Newt Gingrich.

McCain beats Hillary by 12 points in a head-to-head match up.

If Jeb is included in the poll, they should have included Dick Cheney.

"The top five Democrats in the Poll are: Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Biden and Wesley Clark." So, three of the top five picks were losers in the last election.

Interesting.

... and two of the 5 Republican candidates with well-documented affairs while in public service.

The next election will be interesting. Much noise has been made about the Karl Rove master plan to win over the "Evangelical" vote of about 3 million last election. In response, the Democrats are on a "moral" campaign to turn the tide.

If Guiliani or Gingrich were up for election in 2008, things will be interesting. Republicans will have to decide if they practice what they preach in regards to "private morality." I suspect election to the Presidency is not a cure-all for infidelity. But time will tell.
