Primary for Portman’s House seat

The GOP primary for Portman’s House seat was won by Jean Schmidt. Note that Senator DeWine’s son (a county commissioner) came in fourth. About a month ago, he was thought to be in the lead, and had the most money.

Now all we need is a sound conservative Republican to challenge Sen. Compromise next year!
Having had a chance to be down in the second district it was of little surprise that Pat DeWine lost. His campaign was a mess and for all of the slack the people of the area get for their proximity to Appalachia, they know a fink when they see one. Also, I must mention a great deal of rumbling about the Senator himself. It seems the locals are mighty displeased. I wouldnt be surprised to see serious challengers for the Republican nomination coming soon.
The good news is the Pat DeWine did not win. The bad news is that Jean Schmidt is no conservative and was not the best candidate by a long shot.
