Happy holidays! And many apologies for my unexplained disappearance from this blog, especially after the offer to report from France. Shortly after arriving in Paris it became evident that the Canadian government (minority) was going to fall--the Liberals’ coalition partner, the NDP (socialists)decided to bring it down. One of my close friends was about to be nominated as a Liberal candidate in a key Toronto riding (where the incumbent is the leader of the socialists)-I was expecting an election campaign in March-April not now. In any case, every non-obligatory activity I had to drop in order to work on the campaign. Once the election is done (Jan 23) I do promise to share my reflections with you on car burning and many other matters French and otherwise.
