Hillary Clinton to the New York Post (commenting on the musical selections on her iPod):
"Im a child of the 60s and 70s."
Well, I never thought her the type to prefer a march, such as "The Grenadier Guards." Nor prefer listening to "Land of Hope and Glory" or "Sambre et Meuse."
Bet Hills eyes mist over every time she hears The Carpenters doing "Weve Only Just Begun."
To borrow a phrase from Elvis Costello (and Nick Lowe): "Whats so funny bout Peace, Love, and Understanding?
No. I dont think that Hillary tears up listening to The Carpenters. Remember The Carpenters performed at The White House for Richard Nixon, who extolled them and their values, and held them up as an example for youth, during the counter-culture. So The Carpenters might be too ancien regime, for the iconoclastic "Hillary."
You guys got it all wrong. Hillarys favorite song, no doubt, is also Brian Coughlans. "Imagine" by John Lennon.
why are you guys so mean and nasty?
perplexed: Its part of the "Manliness" norm on this blog. When they get tired of sniping at Cindy Sheehan, they make fun of Hillary. Later, they will scoff at values such as "tolerance," "equality," and "empiricism."
