Alt on Giuliani

Someone in the comments asked about our friend Robert Alt’s NRO piece on Giuliani. Here it is. I’m not ready to make the leap from his performance as a U.S. attorney in New York to an assessment of the kinds of judges he’d appoint, though I have to confess that, like Alt, I’m not impressed when I hear him talk about things constitutional.

I think what is most revealing about this article is how false Giuliani's efforts to tie himself to the Reagan administration are. In that cabinet, perhaps only Casper Weinberger was more closely aligned to Ronald Reagan's ideology and purpose than was Meese. Let us not forget what Giuliani said about this Reagan loyalist when he thought it might win him votes.
