Employed Man to be new Senator from Minnesota?

It looks as if Jesse Ventura will do a great deed on his way out. In large measure because of the way Wellstone’s memorial service was handled he has decided not to appoint a Democrat. He has also made another decision: he will appoint an ordinary citizen to fill the job (whether it’s for one day, a few weeks, or a few months) and he thinks it may well be a man who’s current job is collecting garbage. I don’t think he is kidding, and I am glad of it. I see no reason why such a man wouldn’t do a great job. After all, the current nominee of one party is an unemployed man.
