Fark.com links to this story about a three-week-long hunt for a black panther believed to be roaming in the vicinity of the French city of Marseille.

The hunt was called off when the "panther" turned out to be a large housecat. Although, the story reports, the searchers were still unable to catch it.

Fark’s title for the piece is amusing: "France surrenders to large housecat."
