Peter, can a Republican be guilty of any crime in your eyes, or is it simply not possible? Once again, the bloggers here (along with Lowry, apparently) are giving in to the "soft bigotry of low expectations," in which weak excuses are made for bad behavior, and someone who avoids conviction in an O.J. Simpson-like manner can continue to be seen as a principled representative of the best Republican values have to offer. This is pretty bad behavior.
