Bush as worst pres?

Gerard Alexander is a bit critical of this Sean Wilentz piece on George W. Bush being the worst president in our history. I noted the Wilentz piece here.

Bush has a long way to go before he can be considered our worst president. At least another 500,000 or so Americans would have to die under his watch. Then we will have to spend the next eleven years setting up Quisling regimes in Iraq before leaving the Shiites under complete Sunni domination.
Hes not even close to the worst President.
BUT, he does have the worst communication staff and style in modern times. And if he doesnt drop his slavish devotion to "new tone," if he doesnt drop his clueless insistence on signing worthless legislation that only blurs the salient differences between us and the Democrats, were going to be hammered in early November.
This post needs an addendum.
In retrospect, {this being late July, '08} Bush IS making a strong push to go down as one of the worst in American history.
And it's all because of his passivity regarding the Iranian Manhattan Project.
