Star Trek Conservatives?
Posted by Richard Adams
In light of the new Star Trek movie, I thought post the following two lists:
1. James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, and William T. Riker. 2. Russell Kirk, Max Picard, and William H. Riker.
Coincidence?

Jean-Luc was always my favorite (as was "The Next Generation"). Talk about a sci-fi manifestation of the "philosopher-king" . . .
Robert Novak is a Klingon.
Shatner was a man's man. A great individual hero whose ambition was to serve rather than for his own power. Bold and innovative; yet prudent and reflective. I loved the quotes and allusions to classic literature in the original Star Trek that are sorely lacking from today's television.
