Today is the birthday of the Marine Corps (1775). Happy Birthday! You can read more about the outfit from Frank G. Hoffman
(Foreign Policy Research Institute), or my impressions here
. Or, you can think about the Marines you have known, say, Mac Owens, or, John Schramm. Better yet, find any Marine (remember, there is no such thing as a former Marine, so a retired Marine is a Marine still), shake his hand, or give him a hug, and you don't even have to tell anyone. I knew a guy in the Army, because I was young I mistook him for a Marine. He stepped back and said, "You know what happens to a soldier when he believes his own BS, don't you? He becomes a Marine." Not bad. Maybe it's also the birthday of marketing.
