Do I correctly recall this WW II episode: FDR says to Stalin that steel parts vital for tanks could not be shipped, due to a strike. Stalin asks whether the US has no police.
"obstruct the operations of government" and "paralysis of government" - these sound like ideas straight from the Tea Party playbook! This is only going to baffle Tea-birchers who've been taught that FDR is akin to Satan.
Let the paralysis happen - I'm sure whatever ceases working will be immediately picked up by private enterprise. Finally, you guys can privatize it all.
We agree! That fact is private sector unions pit private interests (of the workers) against other private interests (the owners). Public sector unions pit private interests (state employees) against public interests (taxpayers and future taxpayers). If public employee unions don't recognize their states' financial dilemmas for what they are then they really will be SOL when they become insolvent - at which point the states will declare bankruptcy and their contracts will be null and void. Then, as Craig succinctly put it, most services will be necessarily privatized.
Of course, those terms are meant within the Tea Party lexicon to be executed within legal bounds.
